Project Spotlight: My Total Wellness MedSpa – Florence, AL
Accessible Design Studios proudly led the interior design and project management for a 3,500-square-foot interior renovation of the My Total Wellness MedSpa in Florence, Alabama. This “lite” renovation of an existing commercial space was crafted to reflect the clinic’s mission of promoting holistic well-being through a modern, calming environment.
Scope & Approach
This project was completed in two phases, beginning with Programming and Schematic Design, where Accessible Design Studios collaborated closely with the client to determine project goals and spatial needs.
Key elements of this phase included:
Establishing market and design intent, such as finish levels and the visual identity of the space;
Conducting a site visit to assess existing conditions, space allocation, and programmatic functions;
Developing a comprehensive space plan, including general millwork, ceiling, and floor finish layouts (with some finishes retained to optimize the budget);
Hosting a virtual design presentation to communicate intent using curated finish selections, conceptual elevations, and finalized floor plans.
Through this structured design process, the studio crafted a cohesive spatial solution that supports both the operational needs of the clinic and the comfort of its clients.
Construction Administration
In addition to design, Accessible Design Studios also oversaw Construction Administration, ensuring that the built result matched the project’s vision. The team conducted both virtual and in-person check-ins with contractors to review construction progress, timelines, and any unforeseen conditions. Their role extended to:
Reviewing and approving contractor payment requests,
Responding to construction queries,
Issuing clarifications and revisions to construction documents as needed.
This hands-on involvement maintained the design integrity while streamlining communication among all project stakeholders.
