Pediatric Medical Office Renovation Concept
Atlanta Children’s Center – Pediatric Office Concept Design
Location: Atlanta, GA
Scope: Conceptual Interior Design | Approx. 3,000 SF | Medical Office (2nd Floor)
Joscelin Mackey was commissioned to envision a vibrant and child-friendly design concept for the Atlanta Children’s Center, a pediatric medical office located on the second floor of a multi-tenant medical building in Atlanta, Georgia. The client sought a welcoming and imaginative environment that could alleviate the stress often associated with medical visits and foster a sense of safety, play, and curiosity for young patients.
Working within the existing footprint of approximately 3,000 square feet, the concept design focused on reimagining the spatial experience through playful forms, uplifting colors, and dynamic wayfinding. The approach balanced the functional needs of a healthcare facility with a warm, human-centered aesthetic appropriate for children and their caregivers. Key zones—such as the waiting area, exam rooms, corridors, and staff spaces—were thoughtfully considered to ensure comfort, ease of navigation, and age-appropriate engagement.
This concept-only project illustrates Joscelin’s expertise in creating visionary environments that celebrate imagination while maintaining the professional standards of medical design. The design intent prioritized inclusivity, sensory variety, and spatial storytelling to help establish the Atlanta Children’s Center as a joyful and memorable destination for families in the community.
